Grandmaster Flash performed for a sold out crowd at U Street Music Hall in Washington, DC on February 8, 2020 — and Hazy Eye Music Media contributors were there to check it out. Flash’s interactive set (which includes Flash, his turntables, laptop, and a projection screen) rocked U Street for 3 solid hours, and the man never missed a beat.
Tove Lo played for a sold out crowd at The Fillmore in Silver Spring, Maryland on February 7, 2020 — and Hazy Eye Music Media’s contributor Marley Hein was there to capture some of the intense booty-shaking action. The Swedish singer/songwriter is known for her raw energy, honest lyrics, and “grunge-influenced” modern pop music. In this concert review, Marley will be our guide. Andy Frasco & The U.N. will be playing at DC’s historic 9:30 Club on February 13, 2020 — and I, Andy Jillson, will be there to document the musical madness. The band’s sound has been described as “feel good blues-rock fueled by reckless abandonment and a disregard for the rules, and witty lyrics to back it all up.” The band’s live performances have been described as a “boisterous blend of harmonic funk and jazzy influences, all topped with boundless energy.”
