Mastodon (Photo by Andy Jillson)

Virginia’s 4th annual Blue Ridge Rock Festival took place last year September 9-12 in Danville, VA. I was in attendance on 9/11 and 9/12, and Mastodon was one of the few bands I photographed that I actually really like (as in actively listen to their music in my free time). Cussing love Mastodon!

Anyway, in this photo flashback we’re looking at some photos of Mastodon from 2021. Be sure to see them in 2022. This year’s 5th annual Blue Ridge Rock Festival is taking place September 8-11 at the Virginia International Raceway. Tickets available HERE. All images copyright and courtesy of Andy Jillson.

Dylan Scott (Photo by Jianna Brown)

Country music artist Dylan Scott headlined radio station Big Frog 104’s FrogFest33 at Herkimer County Fairgrounds in Frankfort, NY on June 18, 2022. Curtis Lumber presented FrogFest33. Although the day was rainy, the bad weather cleared up before the performance of multi-platinum singer, Dylan Scott.

At the beginning of Dylan Scott’s set, he ran out on stage with nothing but energy. He sang great and the band played great. The audience danced and sang along with his entire setlist, they were “Hooked”! Continue reading below for more pics and my full review. All images copyright and courtesy of Jianna Brown.

Train (Photo by Jianna Brown)

Train kicked off the AM Gold Tour at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center on June 11, 2022. Seconds after Train took the stage, excitement emerged throughout the crowd as confetti shot up from just before the stage; and the song “Meet Virginia” began. Amazing.

In the middle of the set, Train’s lead singer Pat Monahan ran backstage and quickly put on a “Meet Virginia” t-shirt. He ran to each band member with a marker and had them sign the t-shirt. Monahan threw about a dozen t-shirts off the stage into the crowd and lastly threw the autographed shirt. What a night! Continue reading below for more pics and my full review. Fortunately for me I was able to photograph Tool at Capital One Arena in DC recently. Whoa. What an amazing show! Both musically and visually stunning. Psychedelic, progressive hard rock at its finest. A bit challenging for a photographer, but so much nervous excitement. I had not seen Tool since the late 90s. Completely blew my mind.

Tool are still touring the US in support of their fifth studio album, Fear Inoculum. Check the Official Tool Website for remaining tour dates and tickets. Continue reading below for more photos of their performance in DC. All images copyright and courtesy of Andy Jillson.

Cannibal Corpse (Photo by Andy Jillson)

Death metal icons Cannibal Corpse recently kicked off their long-awaited headlining tour of the states and stopped at Baltimore Soundstage this past weekend. Of course, I had to check them out. I couldn’t help myself!

One word basically sums up this show…brutal. Cannibal Corpse is a must-see live act for fans of extreme hard rock and heavy metal. The band sold out Soundstage and are selling out other dates as well. Be sure to check the Official Cannibal Corpse Website for music, news, merch, and tickets for all upcoming tour dates. Ghost (Photo by Andy Jillson)

Ghost, Sweden’s hardest-rocking band, brought their unique sound and style to the Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania earlier this week. I was lucky enough to catch the band while touring across North America with co-headliners Volbeat. I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect walking into the photo pit for Ghost’s performance, and I must admit I was somewhat nervous, but my expectations were far exceeded.

Anyway, this is a must-see musical event for all fans of hard rock and heavy metal. Tickets for remaining tour dates are available HERE. Also be sure to check the Official Ghost Website for music, videos, news, and all upcoming tour dates. Continue reading below for my full concert review.
