Legendary rock photographers Mick Rock and Henry Diltz will tell the stories behind some of their legendary images during their “Behind The Lens” tour of the East Coast. Presented by Morrison Hotel, the evenings of stories and photography are coming to DC’s beautiful City Winery on October 9, 2019. Both Mick Rock and Henry Diltz will be available to hand-sign some of their most iconic photographic prints, which will be up for sale, during a meet-and-greet after the show. Rap and hip-hop legends Snoop Dogg & Wu-Tang Clan have joined forces for a celebration of two of the most unique and influential albums of all-time; of course, I’m referring to Snoop Dogg’s Doggystyle and Wu-Tang Clan’s Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). Concert Review: Ty Segall & White Fence @ Ottobar 2/25/19 — Baltimore, MD

For this Hazy Eye Music Media “Photo Flashback” post we’ll be taking a trip down memory lane with Ty Segall & White Fence. As a rule, I never miss an opportunity to catch a performance by the prolific garage rocker and rock & roll slave, Ty Segall. On this go around he paid a visit to Ottobar in Baltimore, MD on February 25, 2019 with fellow indie rocker and American singer-songwriter Tim Presley (aka White Fence). The venue wreaked of beer and stale cigarette smoke for this gig (I mean more so than usual). The band were drinking beer, the crew were drinking, and a large majority of the crowd were joining along. Continue reading below for full concert review. Concert Review: Live @ 9:30 Club 9/16/19 — Washington, DC

One of the biggest “alternative rock” bands to come out of the 1990’s, +LIVE+, stopped at DC’s 9:30 Club recently, and I was there taking photos and reliving a bit of my early teenager years. Live is out on tour again following their 2016 reunion, and the band played an amazing set of songs in front of a frenzied sold-out crowd at DC’s historic venue on September 16, 2019. The 2016 reunion of Live has been well-received by critics and fans alike. The reunion has given the fans a chance to see the band again and/or for the first time and gave the band themselves an opportunity to celebrate this year’s 25th anniversary of, Throwing Copper. Slipknot embarked on a six-week long tour around North America and brought French heavy metal titans Gojira along with them for the ride. Knotfest Roadshow 2019 was without a doubt the summer’s heaviest-hitting metal festival tour. For the first Hazy Eye Music Media “Photo Flashback” we’ll be taking a trip down memory lane with Ministry. Whoa. Being a fan of Ministry, and most Al Jourgensen side projects since my teens, this is a show I will not soon forget. I was granted a photo pass and permission to photograph one of my childhood musical heroes. Hard to forget that. It only took about 3 or 4 years of requesting photo passes. Hahahahaha! Le Butcherettes are currently out on a massive summer tour with Devil Makes Three, Flogging Molly, and Social Distortion. The band is extensively touring North American in support of their 4^th studio album, bi/MENTAL. Le Butcherettes is a fearless musical force lead by founding member and singer/guitarist/keyboardist Teri Gender Bender. Of course, I was there in the photo pit once again rocking out and taking pictures. As always, Le Butcherettes kicked ass and proved that they are still progressing and are not to be overlooked. Concert Review: The Smashing Pumpkins @ Merriweather Post Pavilion 8/17/19 — Columbia, MD

90’s alt-rock ground-breakers The Smashing Pumpkins kicked off their co-headlining North American tour with Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds last month, and I caught their performance at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD. I was there taking pictures from the soundboard and reminiscing my depressingly sad and lonely teenage years. That’s not necessarily a bad thing though. The Smashing Pumpkins were one of those bands that oddly comforted me during my rock-filled adolescence, and I was once again comforted by their sound and presence.
