Polaris are currently on their North American Tour 2024 and stopped to perform at The Fillmore in Silver Spring, MD on 9/8/2024. The entire bill consisted of NERV, Thousand Below, and Blessthefall which made this one amazing line up of bands! Polaris put on an amazing show that had the entire crowd enthralled in a giant walls of death and circle pits!

Anyway, continue reading below for more photos of Polaris and my full review of the show. Be sure to check out Polaris’ Official Website for music, videos, news, and tickets for all upcoming tour dates. All images copyright and courtesy of John Krebs of Carpe Tempus Photography.

This show was absolutely one to remember. The night started off with great sets from NERV and Thousand Below. Both bands did a phenomenal job getting the crowd warmed up. After Thousand Below performed, Blessthefall took the stage and absolutely tour it up. Between circle pits and non-stop crowd surfers, the audience was ready for Polaris to take the stage.

As soon as the Australian band took the stage, the crowd exploded with energy and momentum. The band came on like a storm and left nothing in it’s wake. No one was standing still as Jamie Hails, Polaris’ vocalist, called for everyone to bounce. It was truly a marvelous thing to witness.

Polaris performed a tight 13 song set featuring songs from their three studio albums. Some highlights include “All of This Is Fleeting,” “Overflow,” “Dissipate,” “The Remedy,” and “Inhumane.” As the band performed there was non-stop moving, hair flips, and I swear I saw Hails levitate for a moment.

A special moment that stuck out was something that Hails said between songs. He talked about how it is really important to stay positive even in the toughest times and reassured the crowd that everyone was there to have a great time. I always enjoy when a band gets personal with the crowd, being vulnerable with their emotions. It was a message that definitely resonated with everyone in attendance.

This was my first time seeing Polaris live and I know it will not be my last. I had a great time watching them perform and interacting with the crowd. When Hails called for the room to split in half for a wall of death, I think this was the first time I actually saw everyone splitting. A lot of bands want this to happen, but Polaris actually achieved it! As soon as “Hypermania” began to pick up, the crowd rushed each other and moshed to the music.

If you ever get the chance to see Polaris live, don’t even hesitate. They put on an amazing show, have a great light production, and will make sure you do not stop moving.
