The Veronicas are currently on their Gothic Summer North American Tour 2024 with support from Jesse Jo and they stopped in Silver Spring, MD at the Fillmore on 4/20/2024. This was a special night filled with catchy beats, amazing stage presence, and non stop crowd interactions! It was a truly magnificent performance to witness.
Anyway, continue reading below for more photos of The Veronicas and my full review of the show. Be sure to check out The Veronicas’ Website for music, videos, news, and tickets for all upcoming tour dates. All images copyright and courtesy of John Krebs.
From the very first beat of the night, which legitimately scared me and made me jump, I knew this show was going to be special! Watching Lisa and Jessica Origliasso completely own the stage with every moment and catchy chorus was truly spectacular. I could not help but dance and groove while capturing these photos. The sister duo from Australia opened with “Take Me on the Floor,” “When Everything Falls Apart,” and “Everything I’m Not.” The entire crowd jumped, bounced, and swayed through every song!
This was my first time seeing The Veronicas live and I am so glad I was able to cover this show. The entire show was just so entertaining to watch! I personally loved the amount of times Lisa and Jessica interact/feed off of each other while performing! They look so happy to be performing and I feel that they both cheer each other on to perform with their all!
There were so many moments that wowed me and each one out did the other! I was so impressed with the amount of instrument changes that happened. When The Veronicas performed “Hook Me Up” they introduced it with a little snippet of “Smells Like Teen Spirit” by Nirvana. It was so cool watching them both confront each other with guitars and just jam out!
The moment that made me realize I was witnessing something special was when they brought out stools to sit and chat with the crowd. It gave me a sense that they truly care for all of their fans! People in the crowd shouted their support of the Veronicas and one couldn’t help but smile. They then sung a few songs acoustically including “This is Love.” When the song was over, the sisters held hands and gave each other a little smile.
If you ever get a chance, I cannot recommend enough to drop everything you are doing and run to the nearest show. This was my first time seeing the Veronicas live and I know it will not be my last!
