Ballyhoo! are currently on their Shellshock Tour 2024 with support from The Harbor Boys and they stopped to perform at Tally Ho Theater on 2/10/2024. The reggae/beach rock band from Baltimore, MD played a sold out show and everyone in attendance had an amazing time! I first discovered Ballyhoo! when they opened for Reel Big Fish and Less Than Jake back in 2015 and when I saw they were coming to Tally Ho, I immediately jumped to cover the show! Ballyhoo! rocked Tally Ho and all in attendance had a night to remember!
Anyway, continue reading below for more photos of Ballyhoo! and my full review of the show. Be sure to check out Ballyhoo!’s website for music, videos, news, and tickets for all upcoming tour dates. All images copyright and courtesy of John Krebs.
When Ballyhoo! took the stage, the crowd was ready. With beers in hand, the crowd sung along to their opening songs “Jameson & Ginger,” “Clip My Wings,” and “Sleepin on the Couch.” Howi Spangler, Ballyhoo!’s singer, really laid down the vibes and the entire crowd was soaking it up. It was hard not to move to the songs! It was fun watching Nick Lucera, Ballyhoo!’s bassist, get the crowd hyped up and keeping them electrified!
One of my favorite moments from the show was when The Harbor Boys’ singer, Cody Woolsoncroft came out and performed with Ballyhoo! The crowd exploded with energy and just danced along to the song. Another highlight of the night was Ballyhoo!’s cover of Blink-182’s “Dammit.” There was not a person standing still during the song! Even Tally Ho’s security members were moving!
If you ever have the chance to catch Ballyhoo! on the road, I highly recommend it! They are an entertaining band to watch and their music should be on everyone’s playlist! I plan on cranking them loudly at the beach this summer! Below are more photos of Ballyhoo! performing at Tally Ho Theater in Leesburg, VA on 2/10/2024.
