Blessthefall stopped to perform at Baltimore Soundstage in Baltimore, MD on 8/20/2023. The band is currently on tour with Dragged Under, Kingdom of Giants, and Caskets. I have been a fan of Blessthefall since summer of 2013, when I saw them on Warped Tour. They are the band that I have seen the most out of all the concerts I’ve been to and every time has been better than the last. I was definitely fanboying out in the pit as I am as close to my favorite band as possible. What is even better, is they are playing their album “Hollow Bodies” cover to cover, which is my favorite album. This concert was chaotic, hot, sweaty, and forever memorable!
Anyway, continue reading below for more photos of Blessthefall and my full review of the show. Be sure to check out Blessthefall’s Official Website for music, videos, news, and tickets for all upcoming tour dates. All images copyright and courtesy of John Krebs.
Blessthefall has been on a 4 year hiatus and as soon as they announced a tour, I bought tickets immediately. When I was given the opportunity to photograph the band, I could not hold in my excitement leading up to the show. Blessthefall has always been one of my favorite bands to watch perform because of the high energy, constant crowd interaction, water bottle sprays (thanks Beau!), and high octane songs. They sounded amazing and they performed my favorite album cover to cover!
Some of my favorite moments came from their songs “You Wear A Crown But You’re No King,” “Hollow Bodies,” “Youngbloods”, and “Carry On.” These songs are ones I always have on repeat because they are fast paced and get people pumped up! Something special about Blessthefall show’s that I’ve witnessed over the years is the crowd’s energy never dissipates. No matter how long the show is, their are constantly mosh pits, walls of death, and a never ceasing flow of crowd surfers. Even when Beau, their lead singer, entered the crowd, the crowd surfers doubled and pure chaos ensued.
Even after performing “Hollow Bodies” in it’s entirety, Blessthefall played a five song encore that consisted of their new song “Wake The Dead,” as well as some older songs including “2.0” and “What’s Left Of Me.” One of my favorite moments from the show happened during “2.0” where Jared Wrath, their bassist and unclean vocalist, gave his bass to their light tech, and he went into the crowd to start the song. Seeing him unleash his brutal vocals with fans as they crowd surfed was amazing!
Even as I write this review, my body is still buzzing from the show. If you ever have the chance to see Blessthefall live, don’t even hesitate, you MUST go see them!
