Well, I was fortunate to see Slipknot twice this year on the Knotfest Roadshow. I made the trip to BB&T Pavilion in Camden, NJ on 10/12/21, and also attended their show at Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, VA on 10/13/21. Both performances were top notch, but the show in New Jersey was my favorite. The fans in Camden were fuckin’ nuts! The woman in the sit next to mine cried sporadically throughout Slipknot’s entire performance. Intense.

I was honestly never a fan of Slipknot until I photographed them on the Knotfest Roadshow 2019 in Burgettstown, PA. I attended that show because Gojira was on the bill that year. I had little expectation for Slipknot’s performance. To my surprise, they were fucking great! I was completely wrong about Slipknot. Totally blew me away.
Slipknot are metal icons for a reason. Their albums are consistently good and their sound and live performances are still progressing. Slipknot’s performance in Camden, NJ was even better than than their performance in 2019. They easily have the greatest stage show I’ve ever seen. It features a massive 2-story stage, treadmills, giant video screens, pyrotechnics, and of course almost every member of Slipknot running around losing their shit. Fuckin’ amazing.
Slipknot’s setlist was brimming with heavy-hitting fan favorites. My personal favorite performances included “Disasterpiece,” “Nero Forte,” “Before I Forget,” “The Heretic Anthem,” “Psychosocial,” “Duality,” and “People=Shit.” Anyway, below are more photos of Slipknot taken by Anthony Scanga. All photos from Knotfest Roadshow 2021. Enjoy!
