Tove Lo played for a sold out crowd at The Fillmore in Silver Spring, Maryland on February 7, 2020 — and Hazy Eye Music Media’s contributor Marley Hein was there to capture some of the intense booty-shaking action. The Swedish singer/songwriter is known for her raw energy, honest lyrics, and “grunge-influenced” modern pop music. In this concert review, Marley will be our guide. On this particular Friday night The Fillmore in Silver Spring, Maryland was fortunate to have Tove Lo as the headlining artist. She is currently in the U.S. on her “Sunshine Kitty Tour” and has brought Finnish singer/songwriter ALMA along for the ride. Tove Lo has been called “Sweden’s darkest export” and “Sweden’s saddest female pop star.” Whatever others my say, her performance was high-energy and lots of fun.

The Fillmore was sold out and packed tightly for this performance. Due to the weather, many of Tove Lo’s fans had been huddled together outside the venue with blankets draped over them for hours. Some of the people in line had been waiting outside 4-6 hours before being let in for the show. Whoa. That’s some serious commitment! When Tove Lo hit the stage she was barely wearing any clothes. She shook her booty all over the place and danced her little ass off! She definitely heated up the crowd and excited her fans.

Tove Lo’s live music consisted of hip-hop drum programming, alt-rock guitars, unique/powerful vocals, and pop sensibility. The crowd was pumped up and the set was pleasing to the ears. Luckily for the fans, Tove Lo is still touring and has several stops remaining. Be sure to see one of her performances if possible.
