Helmet performed at Union Stage in Washington, DC on October 27, 2019 and I was there to catch some of the action. The band is currently out on their 30th anniversary tour and fans everywhere are losing their shit. I loved Helmet as a teenager in the 90’s, and the band still kicks ass today. They are a constant in my “metal” playlists. Yep, for this “Photo Flashback” we’re taking a trip down memory lane with Helmet. Continue reading below for more photos from the show. Incubus recently announced a fall tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of their breakthrough album, Make Yourself — and the band stopped in Washington, DC to play two nights at the Warner Theatre. I was fortunate enough to photograph Incubus on the second night, October 13, 2019. Wow. What a show. Incubus’ performance will be making my top 5 best concerts of the year list. So much fun. So many great songs. Yep, Incubus was on point and the setlist was fucking awesome! Continue reading below for full concert review. All images copyright and courtesy of Andy Jillson.

Legendary rock photographers Mick Rock and Henry Diltz visited City Winery in DC recently to tell the stories behind some of their legendary images during their “Behind The Lens” tour. Presented by Morrison Hotel, and hosted in DC’s beautiful City Winery on October 9, 2019, both Mick Rock and Henry Diltz were an absolute pleasure to meet. Their ground-breaking rock images changed the world of rock photography forever. The two also stayed after for a meet-and-greet to hand-sign some of their most iconic photographic prints. Live @ 9:30 Club (Photo by Andy Jillson)

One of the biggest “alternative rock” bands to come out of the 1990’s, +LIVE+, stopped at DC’s 9:30 Club recently, and I was there taking photos and reliving a bit of my early teenager years. Live is out on tour again following their 2016 reunion, and the band played an amazing set of songs in front of a frenzied sold-out crowd at DC’s historic venue on September 16, 2019. The 2016 reunion of Live has been well-received by critics and fans alike. The reunion has given the fans a chance to see the band again and/or for the first time and gave the band themselves an opportunity to celebrate this year’s 25th anniversary of, Throwing Copper.
