DC is in for a special treat when IDLES maul The Anthem on Wednesday September 14, 2022. The Bristol, UK-based band are currently touring North America in support of their new album, Crawler. Photo Flashback: Korn @ Blossom Music Center 8/23/22 — Cuyahoga Falls, OH

Korn recently stopped in Ohio while on their summer tour and Hazy Eye Media’s “Man in the Midwest” Bill Garman was there to catch these classic metal masters at work. It was a soundboard show for the photographers, but well worth it for a fan of the band. The tour features Helmet and Evanescence as special guests. If you don’t know, Rob Zombie is a rock musician and filmmaker who has continuously explored and challenged his creativity when it comes to his music and films. Photo Flashback: The Weekend @ FedEx Field 7/30/22 — Landover, MD

The Weekend put on an out-of-this-world performance at FedEx Field in Landover, MD on 7/30/22. This was a sold-out show and my biggest show to date. This was also one of the most “high-tech” musical productions I’ve seen. I was there on the sidelines (w/ 10 other photographers) doing my best to capture some of the magic, but it was tough. So much chaotic excitement. Only had two songs to take pics and an extremely small space to stand. I had a blast, though!

The “After Hours Til Dawn Tour” is The Weekend’s first-ever stadium tour. Fans had been anxiously awaiting this show. After several delays due to COVID, concert-goers had their redemption. DC. Concert Review: Modest Mouse @ Rams Head Live 4/18/22 — Baltimore, MD

Indie rock heroes Modest Mouse played to a sold out crowd at Rams Head Live in Baltimore’s inner harbor on 4/18/2022. This was the band’s first show of the tour, and it was clear they are at one of their top musical peaks. Amazing performance by versatile musicians. The band is currently on an extensive US tour in support of their 2021 album, The Golden Casket. Shows are selling out so secure your spot quickly.

Concert Review: Animals As Leaders @ Soundstage 4/13/22 — Baltimore, MD

Animals As Leaders performed for a rabid sold out crowd at Soundstage in Baltimore’s inner harbor on 4/13/2022. This was a highly-anticipated show. Metalheads from DC, MD, VA (the DMV) and beyond filled the venue to its maximum capacity. The band were on tour in support of their 2022 album, Parrhesia, but the tour has now come to an end.

I was fortunate to be at this show, and too be the only photographer in the photo pit. What a treat! Concert Review: Buddy Guy w/ Kingfish @ Capital One Hall 4/2/22 — Tysons Corner, VA

Buddy Guy recently performed at Capital One Hall with special guest Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, and I was there to document my first show in this new venue. The one-time-only show took place in Tysons Corner, Virginia on 4/2/2022. Fortunately, I was approved for a photo pass and received a warm welcome upon arrival. I hope to be back soon.

Concert Review: Lauren Monroe w/ Rick Allen @ City Winery 3/24/22 — Washington, DC

Lauren Monroe, along with legendary Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen, played a heartfelt set of songs in an intimate setting at The Loft (City Winery DC) this past week. What an honor to have been granted access to cover this performance. Monroe’s music and lyrics are deeply moving and have a healing quality. The subjects and themes within the songs are intense yet the music is somewhat sedative. Bluesy Novocaine for the soul. Bravo.

If you are unfamiliar with Lauren Monore’s music I strongly encourage you to explore. She has an abundance of great material. If you are unfamiliar with Rick Allen and/or Def Leppard…you must not be from this planet.
