Ministry and the beloved Uncle Al stopped to perform at The Fillmore in Silver Spring, MD on 5/3/2023. The band are currently on tour in the US with supporting acts Gary Numan and Front Line Assembly. Of course, being a long-time fan of Ministry, I was there in the photo pit losing my mind. I did my best to keep my composure and take some decent photos while rocking out to one of my favorite bands. I had a blast and my photos turned out well. Ministry sounded tight as ever and the setlist was top notch. Mission accomplished.

Anyway, continue reading below for more photos of Ministry and my full review of the show. Be sure to check out the Official Ministry Website for music, videos, news, and tickets for all upcoming tour dates. All images copyright and courtesy of Andy Jillson.

Each night will celebrate 30+ years of The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste as well as the recent release of Ministry’s 15th studio album, Moral Hygiene. Thankfully the tour stops at The Ritz in Raleigh, North Carolina on 3/18/22. This is literally a dream show for me. I’m sick with excitement. Get up…get on your feet!!!

Derek S. Abrams

Hazy Eye Music Media is proud to post another interview in a series of interviews I’m currently conducting with some of my favorite artists. I’m stepping outside of my comfort zone and have begun picking the brains of some phenomenal musicians. This time I, Andy Jillson, was fortunate enough to interview Derek S. Abrams.

Abrams is an extremely proficient metal drummer. He has been playing since the age of seven, and professionally since the age of fifteen. In high school, he focused on jazz history, theory and composition. After high school, he embarked on an extensive study of world percussion and ethnic drumming. He is most known for being a touring drummer for the pioneering industrial-metal band, Ministry. Continue reading below for my full interview with Derek S. Abrams.

Pigface performed at Baltimore Soundstage in Baltimore, Maryland on November 20, 2019 — and I, Andy Jillson, was there rocking out and taking pictures. This was about my eight or ninth time seeing Pigface live, but undoubtedly the most memorable. I was invited onstage by Martin Atkins to play the drums on his kit for the encore song, “Suck.” Mind-blowing. Surreal. Magical. Continue reading below for full concert review. Pigface performed at Baltimore Soundstage in Baltimore, Maryland on November 20, 2019 — and Hazy Eye Music Media’s contributor Brad Price was there to capture some of the chaotic industrial magic. Yep, in this “Photo Flashback” we’re taking a trip down memory lane with Pigface — and Brad is our guide. Continue reading below for more photos from the show. Ministry performed at the Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania on November 6, 2019 — and I, Andy Jillson, was there losing my shit and rocking out in the photo pit with one of my all-time favorite artists. Holy shit! Ministry played a classic set of songs from their late 80’s and early 90’s catalog. This was a dream show for me. Continue reading below for more photos from the show. For the first Hazy Eye Music Media “Photo Flashback” we’ll be taking a trip down memory lane with Ministry. Whoa. Being a fan of Ministry, and most Al Jourgensen side projects since my teens, this is a show I will not soon forget. I was granted a photo pass and permission to photograph one of my childhood musical heroes. Hard to forget that. It only took about 3 or 4 years of requesting photo passes. Hahahahaha! I can still recall the feeling of pure bliss and redemption I experienced during my time in the photo pit. Continue reading below for full concert review.
