The Metal Tour Of The Year made a second stop while in New Jersey, and I was fortunate enough to be there. Megadeth and Lamb of God collectively blew the minds and eardrums of everyone in attendance. The sound and lighting at this show was amazing. Both heavy metal giants performed flawless sets in a beautiful amphitheater. This was my third time seeing the tour. Overall, I would say this was the best performance by both bands. Heavy metal gold.

Anyway, be sure to check out the Official Megadeth Website & Official Lamb of God Website for music, news, videos, merch, and all upcoming tour dates. Continue reading below for more photos from their performances in Holmdel, NJ on 9/16/21. All images copyright and courtesy of Andy Jillson.

The Metal Tour Of The Year made a stop in Auburn, WA at White River Amphitheatre and literally set the place on fire. Hot damn! This must-see tour is co-headlined by Megadeth and Lamb of God, but the metal insanity doesn’t stop there. The two metal giants are joined by special guests Trivium and Hatebreed. What a lineup!

Anyway, tickets and VIP packages for the tour can be purchased at metaltouroftheyear.com. Also be sure to check out the Official Megadeth Website & Official Lamb of God Website for music, news, videos, merch, and all upcoming tour dates. Virginia’s 4th annual Blue Ridge Rock Festival will be taking place this year September 9-12 at the Blue Ridge Amphitheater in Danville, VA. Once again, the festival organizers have gone out of their way to provide an entirely “fan-driven” artist lineup. This musical event will be one of the best of the year!

Headliners for this year’s Blue Ridge Rock Festival include Rob Zombie, Rise Against, Breaking Benjamin, Five Finger Death Punch, Megadeth, Papa Roach, and Shinedown. I’m personally looking most forward to performances by Gojira, Lamb of God, Mastodon, and Anthrax. View full line-up and/or purchase tickets at blueridgerockfest.com. Hazy Eye Music Media is proud to present another interview in a series of interviews I’ve been conducting with some of my favorite concert photographers. I’ve stepped outside of my comfort zone and have begun picking the brains of some phenomenal photographers. My interviews in this series focus on “local” concert photographers. That is photographers around DC, MD, and Northern VA. The DMV as we call it.

Anyway, check it out! I, Andy Jillson, was fortunate enough to chat with Lisa Walker. Lisa is an extremely talented photographer and travel blogger. I met her last summer at a Slayer farewell show at Merriweather Post Pavilion. She shoots festivals, world tours, small gigs, and has traveled overseas on assignment for a NatGeo travel blog. Her work is amazing. Continue reading below for my full interview with Lisa A. Walker. All photos copyright and courtesy of Lisa A. Walker (Shots from the Dark).

Pigface performed at Baltimore Soundstage in Baltimore, Maryland on November 20, 2019 — and I, Andy Jillson, was there rocking out and taking pictures. This was about my eight or ninth time seeing Pigface live, but undoubtedly the most memorable. I was invited onstage by Martin Atkins to play the drums on his kit for the encore song, “Suck.” Mind-blowing. Surreal. Magical. Continue reading below for full concert review.
