The Metal Tour Of The Year made a stop in Auburn, WA at White River Amphitheatre and literally set the place on fire. Hot damn! This must-see tour is co-headlined by Megadeth and Lamb of God, but the metal insanity doesn’t stop there. The two metal giants are joined by special guests Trivium and Hatebreed. What a lineup!

Anyway, tickets and VIP packages for the tour can be purchased at metaltouroftheyear.com. Also be sure to check out the Official Megadeth Website & Official Lamb of God Website for music, news videos, merch, and all upcoming tour dates. Dropkick Murphys (Photo by Andy Jillson)

Dropkick Murphys played a high energy set at The Mann Center in Philadelphia, PA earlier this week. The band were performing with fellow rockers Rancid on their Boston to Berkley II tour. I made the drive to Philly from Silver Spring, MD to cover this musical event, and I was not disappointed. The band performed a flawless set of their signature sounding tunes. Well worth the drive.

Anyway, Dropkick Murphys are still on a co-headlining tour with Rancid. Tickets for the Boston to Berkley II tour can be purchased at www.DropkickMurphys.com or www.RancidRancid.com. Primus have officially set sail on their Rush tribute tour, and I was approved to cover their stop on 8/13/2021 in Spokane, Washington. The band jammed through a great setlist of their own material before performing Rush’s 1977 masterpiece A Farewell to Kings in its entirety.

Anyway, tickets for Primus’ “A Farewell to Kings Tour” can be purchased at primusville.com/#tour. The Hella Mega Tour featuring Green Day and Weezer made a stop in DC on 8/8/2021. I was fortunate enough to be in the photo pit for this one. This is my biggest show to date. Wow…just wow. Surreal is an understatement. I was only allowed in the photo pit for a couple songs, but I made the most of my time. I had a freakin’ blast!

Anyway, tickets for the Hella Mega Tour can be purchased at hellamegatour.com. Dermot Kennedy (Photo by Sean Rider)

It was a rainy Sunday night on August 8, 2021 when Dermot Kennedy took the stage at The Pageant in St. Louis. The venue hummed with the energy that only a sold out show could provide. The show itself was emotional for me in numerous ways. This was the first concert I attended since the pandemic started in early 2020, over a year ago. Just being back in a crowd of like-minded music lovers was enough to send tingles straight down my spine.

Anyway, tickets for upcoming Dermot Kennedy shows can be purchased at dermotkennedy.com/tour. Also be sure to check out the Official Dermot Kennedy Website for music, videos, merch, and all upcoming tour dates. Modest Mouse played to a sold out crowd at The Met in Philadelphia, PA on 8/5/21. The band are currently on an extensive US summer and fall tour in support of their new album, The Golden Casket. This was my first time at The Met and my first time seeing Modest Mouse live since 1999. It felt amazing being in the photo pit for this show.

Japanese Breakfast (Photo by Andy Jillson)

Japanese Breakfast played for a sold out crowd at The Fillmore in Silver Spring, MD last week. This was the first performance of their 2021 tour, and one I will remember for years to come. The venue was extremely hot and packed tightly; however, the crowd loved every second of it. I was personally so caught up in the musical excitement that three songs in the photo pit went by in a blink. Amazing performance. Amazing artist. Enough said.

Anyone who has a chance should give Japanese Breakfast a listen and buy a ticket to one of the shows. Tickets are on sale now and available for purchase at japanesebreakfast.rocks/tour. Continue reading below for more photos information. All images copyright and courtesy of Andy Jillson.
