Blessthefall stopped to perform at Baltimore Soundstage in Baltimore, MD on 8/20/2023. The band is currently on tour with Dragged Under, Kingdom of Giants, and Caskets. I have been a fan of Blessthefall since summer of 2013, when I saw them on Warped Tour. They are the band that I have seen the most out of all the concerts I’ve been to and every time has been better than the last. I was definitely fanboying out in the pit as I am as close to my favorite band as possible. What is even better, is they are playing their album “Hollow Bodies” cover to cover, which is my favorite album. This concert was chaotic, hot, sweaty, and forever memorable!

Anyway, continue reading below for more photos of Blessthefall and my full review of the show. Be sure to check out Blessthefall’s Official Website for music, videos, news, and tickets for all upcoming tour dates. All images copyright and courtesy of John Krebs.

Soulfly played a killer set at Soundstage in Baltimore, MD on 2/16/23, and luckily I was there in the photo pit for the first three songs. I’m a long-time fan of Max Cavalera. Lost my shit at this show. The band absolutely destroyed the crowd. Brutal heavy metal music at its finest. Much respect.

Anyway, be sure to check out the official Soulfly Website for music, videos, news, and tickets for all upcoming tour dates. Continue viewing below for more pics from Soundstage in Baltimore, MD on 2/16/2023. All images copyright and courtesy of Andy Jillson.

Animals As Leaders (Photo by Andy Jillson)

Animals As Leaders performed for a rabid sold out crowd at Soundstage in Baltimore’s inner harbor on 4/13/2022. This was a highly-anticipated show. Metalheads from DC, MD, VA (the DMV) and beyond filled the venue to its maximum capacity. The band were on tour in support of their 2022 album, Parrhesia, but the tour has now come to an end.

I was fortunate to be at this show, and too be the only photographer in the photo pit. What a treat! Anyway, be sure to check out the Official Animals As Leaders Website for music, news, merch, and tickets for festival appearances and tour dates. Continue reading below for my full review. Bumpin Uglies (Photo by Andy Jillson)

Bumpin Uglies kicked off the weekend at Baltimore Soundstage on March 19, 2021 and I was fortunate enough to be there enjoying the live music and spacious photo pit. The performance was their first of three sold out shows at Soundstage last week. This was my first time back in the venue since February 2020. Felt so good. It was a much needed dose of socially-distanced live music and concert photography.

Anyway, in this photo flashback we’re taking a glimpse into the world of post-COVID concerts. Continue reading below for more shots of Bumpin Uglies performing for a sold out room of mask-wearing fans in Baltimore, MD. All images copyright and courtesy of Andy Jillson.

Hazy Eye Music Media is proud to present another interview in a series of interviews I’ve been conducting with some of my favorite concert photographers. I’ve stepped outside of my comfort zone and have begun picking the brains of some phenomenal photographers. My interviews in this series focus on “local” concert photographers. That is photographers around DC, MD, and Northern VA. The DMV as we call it.

Anyway, check it out! I, Andy Jillson, was fortunate enough to chat with Lisa Walker. Lisa is an extremely talented photographer and travel blogger. I met her last summer at a Slayer farewell show at Merriweather Post Pavilion. She shoots festivals, world tours, small gigs, and has traveled overseas on assignment for a NatGeo travel blog. Her work is amazing. Continue reading below for my full interview with Lisa A. Walker. All photos copyright and courtesy of Lisa A. Walker (Shots from the Dark).
