Goose (Photo by Andy Jillson)

Goose and their musical gaggle landed at the Frederick Fairgrounds in Frederick, MD on October 19, 2020 and sold the place out. Showtime At The Drive-In has been hosting drive-in concert events at the fairgrounds and Goose have been the best act yet. This was my introduction to the band and honestly, I was blown away by their musical performance and uplifting vibes. Goose are definitely not your average “jam band” or “indie band.”

GWAR (Photo by Andy Jillson)

Holy shit! GWAR played their first drive-in concert in the parking lot of The Diamond in Richmond, VA on 10/10/20, and I was fortunate enough to be there for my first parking lot show as well. The band’s performance was top notch and included all the horrific thrills and chills you would expect from these intergalactic metal gods — blood, guts, and senseless rock ‘n’ roll obscenity. I loved every second of it.

Nelly

This weekend, Live Nation launched their first ever U.S. drive-in concert series – Live From The Drive In – marking a highly anticipated return to live, in person events in a safe and socially distanced manner. Nelly, Darius Rucker, Jon Pardi, El Monstero, and Yacht Rock Revue kicked off the series with performances across Nashville, St. Louis, and Indianapolis.

Country superstar Brad Paisley headlined the Live Nation U.S. drive-in concert series and all three stops were sold out; however, it was a particularly epic night for Nelly and St. Louis hip-hop fans — as Nelly celebrated the 20th anniversary of his album Country Grammar on Sunday at Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre.

In this “photo flashback” we’re taking a trip down memory lane w/ Nelly at the Hollywood Amphitheatre in Maryland Heights, MO (St. Louis) on July 12, 2020. Continue Reading below for more photos of Nelly and St. Lunatics from Live Nation’s “Live From The Drive In” concert series. Country superstar Brad Paisley headlined the Live Nation U.S. drive-in concert series and sold-out all three stops. The 90 minute concert was filled with career hits such as “Crushin’ It,” “Mud on the Tires,” “American Saturday Night,” “Then,” I’m Still A Guy,” “Ticks,” as well as his current single and fan favorite, “No I In Beer.” Paisley also surprised concert-goers with a special video duet with Carrie Underwood for their smash hit “Remind Me” and an opening comedy set from Kevin Nealon ahead of his performance in Nashville.

Digable Planets @ The Birchmere (Photo by Andy Jillson)

Digable Planets played for a sold out crowd at The Birchmere in Alexandria, Virginia on February 24, 2020 — and I, Andy Jillson, was there to capture some of the eclectic performance. This show was sold out for a reason. Digable Planets were awesome! Seriously. Wow. I am extremely fortunate to have obtained a photo pass for this show. I dig, Digable Planets.

Theo Katzman performed for a sold out crowd at The Foundry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on February 19, 2020 — and I, Jordan August, was there in the intimate venue jamming along with all the other obsessed Katzman fans. What a wonderful musical experience. Don’t miss out on seeing him on his 2020 tour!

Grandmaster Flash @ U Street (Photo by Andy Jillson)

Grandmaster Flash performed for a sold out crowd at U Street Music Hall in Washington, DC on February 8, 2020 — and Hazy Eye Music Media contributors were there to check it out. Flash’s interactive set (which includes Flash, his turntables, laptop, and a projection screen) rocked U Street for 3 solid hours, and the man never missed a beat.

Tove Lo played for a sold out crowd at The Fillmore in Silver Spring, Maryland on February 7, 2020 — and Hazy Eye Music Media’s contributor Marley Hein was there to capture some of the intense booty-shaking action. The Swedish singer/songwriter is known for her raw energy, honest lyrics, and “grunge-influenced” modern pop music. In this concert review, Marley will be our guide.

Cory Wong performing @ Theatre of Living Arts (Photo by Jordan August)

Cory Wong performed to a sold out crowd at the Theatre of Living Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on January 24, 2020 — and I, Jordan August, was allowed into the photo pit just in the nick of time to capture a bit of the funky magic. I’m truly grateful to have been at this event. Philly loves Cory Wong and it showed. What follows is more of an account of my evening than an actual live concert review.

Snoop Dogg performing @ The Fillmore (Photo by Andy Jillson)

Snoop Dogg performed at The Fillmore in Silver Spring, Maryland on January 19, 2020 — and I, Andy Jillson, was there in the photo pit “smokin’ indo” with the rap and hip-hop icon. The show was sold out, the venue was tightly packed, and the crowd was “highly” anxious. The fans went absolutely crazy at first site of tha Dogg. Once again I was overcome with awe. Snoop dominated the mic and smoked out the entire venue. Wow.
