Ministry and the beloved Uncle Al stopped to perform at The Fillmore in Silver Spring, MD on 5/3/2023. The band are currently on tour in the US with supporting acts Gary Numan and Front Line Assembly. Of course, being a long-time fan of Ministry, I was there in the photo pit losing my mind. I did my best to keep my composure and take some decent photos while rocking out to one of my favorite bands. I had a blast and my photos turned out well. Ministry sounded tight as ever and the setlist was top notch. Mission accomplished.

I had been waiting for Ministry to come back to The Fillmore in Silver Spring, MD since December, 2018. That was the first time I attended a Ministry show at The Fillmore, and the first time I ever photographed the band. This time around, Ministry has a new lineup and is playing a different setlist. Well worth the wait. They sounded amazing and the fans seemed to love all the songs on the setlist…even the newer songs!

Some of the greatest musical highlights of the setlist included, “Alert Level,” “Disinformation,” Goddamn White Trash,” “Just One Fix,” “The Missing,” “Deity,” “Burning Inside,” and “Stigmata.” That’s almost a dream setlist for a lot of Ministry fans. Attendees were in musical ecstasy. The intense energy of the band and the love from the crowd was palpable.

As I mentioned above, I had an absolute blast at the show and my photos seemed to have turned out well. Ministry sounds heavy and super tight. The players are well-rehearsed and Al Jourgensen is still full of enthusiasm and creative energy. The current version of the band is quite possibly the best since the early 90s. I would highly recommend seeing Ministry live for all the readers who have not. The band are touring into the summer and will hopefully be performing in a city near you.
