Dropkick Murphys played a high energy set at The Mann Center in Philadelphia, PA earlier this week. The band were performing with fellow rockers Rancid on their Boston to Berkley II tour. I made the drive to Philly from Silver Spring, MD to cover this musical event, and I was not disappointed. The band performed a flawless set of their signature sounding tunes. Well worth the drive.
Anyway, Dropkick Murphys are still on a co-headlining tour with Rancid. Tickets for the Boston to Berkley II tour can be purchased at www.DropkickMurphys.com or www.RancidRancid.com. Continue reading below for more details and photos from the show. All images copyright and courtesy of Andy Jillson.
This was my first time seeing Dropkick Murphys perform live. I had no idea what to expect. The whole place was buzzing the second I arrived. Once the band began to play, the crowd collectively lost their minds. Nearly everyone was screaming and dancing along for the entire performance. The members of the band were running around the stage like madmen, but somehow managed to play and sing amazingly. Impressive.
I have literally never experienced a show quite like this before. I left the show feeling a residual buzz from all the loud music and excitement. I definitely plan to see Dropkick Murphys again in the future. Such a great live band with seemingly boundless amounts of positive energy. Bravo!
