Rap legend Snoop Dogg has added additional U.S. and European tour dates in support of his 17th album, I Wanna Thank Me, released on August 16, 2019 via Doggystyle Records/Empire. His longtime g-funk friend and cohort Warren G, L.A. rapper RJMrLA, and Houston rapper Trae Tha Truth will be supporting Snoop on his 2020 tour. The “I Wanna Thank Me Tour” is powered by Snoop Dogg’s newest live entertainment company, Bobby Dee Presents.
Snoop Dogg came to the attention of most Hip Hop fans by way of his 1992 collaboration with Dr. Dre titled “Deep Cover” (from the soundtrack of the same name). Snoop’s laid back drawl and monotone wordplay was an immediate hit with fans and a perfect set up to a career that has lasted almost 3 decades.
After blessing listeners with “Deep Cover”, Snoop solidified his position as the new voice of West Coast rap again in ’92 with the Dr. Dre-assisted and produced “Nuthin’ But a G Thang” from the legendary Chronic compilation album. From those humble beginnings Snoop, who was once so shy that he rarely looked into the camera for music videos and interviews, became and remains an iconic fixture in popular culture.
With a dozen albums and more collaborations than any other rap artist, Snoop Dogg has become a house hold name. Snoop secured a proposed appearance on The Muppets Movie, his own “Snoop Deville” automobile, major motion pictures, various product endorsements, and dozens of accolades and awards.
Snoop is also one of few rap artists who has been able to keep the business side of his career intact, as he has worn the hat of artist manager and independent record label owner. Snoop Dogg shows no signs of slowing down — even after 30 years since that start of his meteoric rise.
