Built to Spill, fronted by singer/songwriter/guitar player Doug Martsch, are out on tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of their fourth studio album, Keep It Like A Secret. The indie-rock heroes have detailed an 83-date run that will keep them busy until the end of the year. Built to Spill will perform their classic album in its entirety at each stop, and some other BTS fan favorites are in the mix as well.

Hailing from Boise, Idaho, Built to Spill was one of the first indie band’s to take advantage of the festival circuit and were able to gain notoriety for player to large summer crowds. Throughout the band’s nearly three-decade career in the music industry, Built to Spill has released a total of eight full-length studio albums and five EPs. My personal favorites albums by BTS are There’s Nothing Wrong With Love and Perfect From Now On. However, Keep It Like A Secret is a great rock album as well.

When Keep It Like A Secret was originally released in 1999, the album was met with critical praise and was ranked 41st on Pitchfork’s Top Albums of the 90s’ list. The 20th Anniversary Keep It Like a Secret Tour began at the end of June and will come to a close in November.

I would highly suggest seeing Built to Spill in concert if possible. I’ve seen them seven times now. I’m never disappointed. Doug Martsch is an extremely underrated guitar player and singer/songwriter. BTS released some of the best rock albums of the 90’s. Check Built to Spill’s Official Website for all remaining tour dates and other info about the band.
